I have been waiting to share this news, and I am incredibly proud to finally say it: Rose Temple Yoga School’s 200-Hour Inclusive Yoga Teacher Training has received accreditation from both Yoga Alliance and the American Yoga Council. This means Rose Temple Yoga School now holds recognition through two respected yoga organizations, and our 200-hour yoga teacher training program is approved for both online and in-person instruction. When I began dreaming about creating my own yoga teacher training school, I knew I wanted it to be different. I did not want to build another yoga certification program centered on advanced poses, physical perfection, or the idea that yoga teachers must look a certain way.I wanted to create an inclusive yoga teacher training program for people who have not always felt represented or welcomed in traditional yoga spaces.Rose Temple Yoga School was created for adults over 40, beginners, people in larger bodies, people with disabilities or limited mobility, people living with chronic illness, and anyone who has ever wondered whether they are young, thin, flexible, strong, or experienced enough to become a yoga teacher. My answer is simple:Yoga is for every body, and you belong here.
Creating an 1,100-Page Yoga Teacher Training Manual
Earning these yoga teacher training recognitions did not happen overnight.I spent countless hours researching, writing, organizing, revising, and developing the Rose Temple curriculum. By the time the program was complete, the yoga teacher training manual had grown to more than 1,100 pages. When I saw the final page count, even I was surprised. But every page represents something important to me: my years of yoga education, my teaching experience, my spiritual practice, my academic background, and my commitment to creating an accessible yoga certification program. The Rose Temple 200-Hour Inclusive Yoga Teacher Training explores:

Yoga history and philosophy

The Eight Limbs of Yoga

Anatomy and physiology

Teaching methodology

Accessible yoga poses and modifications

Yoga class sequencing

Meditation and breathwork

Yoga ethics and professional responsibilities

Trauma-informed teaching principles

Chair yoga

Gentle yoga

Restorative yoga

Yin yoga

Yoga nidra

Somatic awareness

Spiritual development

The Divine Feminine

The business and professional side of teaching yoga

This is not simply a collection of poses. It is a complete 200-hour yoga teacher training curriculum designed to help students understand yoga as a physical, emotional, philosophical, and spiritual practice. The manual also reflects my belief that yoga teachers need more than the ability to demonstrate a pose. They need to understand how to create safe, welcoming, adaptable experiences for students with different bodies, abilities, backgrounds, and needs.
An Inclusive Yoga Teacher Training for Real Bodies
I began yoga in my 40s while living with health concerns and navigating life in a plus-size body. I did not begin as the person many people imagine when they picture a yoga teacher. My personal yoga journey taught me that yoga is not about forcing our bodies to fit a pose. Yoga is about learning how to make the practice support the body, mind, and spirit of the person who is actually present. That understanding became the foundation of Rose Temple Yoga School.Students in this accessible yoga teacher training will learn how to offer variations using a chair, bed, wall, or yoga mat. They will learn how to make thoughtful choices for older adults, beginners, larger-bodied students, people with limited mobility, and people managing chronic health conditions. They will also learn that honoring a limitation is not the same as failing. Choosing a chair instead of the floor does not make someone less spiritual. Modifying a pose does not make it less meaningful. This inclusive 200-hour yoga teacher training is not built around performance. It is built around presence, accessibility, compassion, knowledge, and respect.
Approved for Online, Hybrid, and In-Person Yoga Teacher Training
One of the most meaningful parts of this accomplishment is that the Rose Temple program has been approved for both online and in-person yoga teacher training. The first training begins in January 2027, and students may participate in the format that best supports their lives:

In person at Cosmic Connections in Nashville, Tennessee

Live online through Zoom

Through a hybrid combination of online and in-person classes

Students will also receive online lessons, course materials, videos, audio lectures, and class recordings to support their learning between live training sessions. This flexibility makes Rose Temple a strong option for anyone searching for an online 200-hour yoga teacher training, a hybrid yoga teacher training, or an in-person yoga teacher training in Nashville.I know that many adults are balancing careers, families, health concerns, caregiving responsibilities, and changing energy levels. A yoga teacher training program should be rigorous and meaningful, but it should also recognize that students have real lives.Accessibility is not an extra feature of this program. It is woven into the foundation of the training.
Two Pathways Through the 200-Hour Yoga Training
Not everyone who feels called to study yoga wants to become a professional yoga teacher. Some people want to understand yoga more deeply, strengthen their personal spiritual practice, or explore the philosophy and sacred traditions behind the poses. That is why Rose Temple Yoga School offers two pathways. The Teaching Track is designed for students who want to develop the skills needed to teach yoga. It includes lesson planning, practice teaching, observation, sequencing, professional development, and a final teaching practicum. The Personal Spiritual Practice Track is for students who want to complete the training for personal growth rather than professional teaching. These students will focus on spiritual reflection, personal practice, observation, journaling, and creating a sustainable yoga practice for their own lives. Both pathways allow students to study yoga beyond physical movement and explore its connection to meditation, breathwork, intuition, self-awareness, sacred living, and spiritual growth.Whether you feel called to teach yoga or simply want to deepen your personal relationship with it, there is a place for you at Rose Temple.
Recognition From Yoga Alliance
Rose Temple Yoga School has received approval through Yoga Alliance, an internationally recognized yoga organization that supports professional standards and credentials for yoga teachers and registered yoga schools.Yoga Alliance emphasizes greater accessibility in yoga and challenges outdated beliefs about who yoga is for. Those values connect deeply with the mission of Rose Temple Yoga School.Receiving this recognition confirms that the Rose Temple 200-hour program has been developed to meet established yoga teacher training standards while maintaining its unique focus on inclusive yoga, accessible movement, spiritual practice, and students over 40.
Accreditation From the American Yoga Council
I am also extremely proud that Rose Temple Yoga School has received accreditation from the American Yoga Council. The American Yoga Council supports yoga teachers and yoga schools through education, professional credentials, continuing education, community resources, and specialty standards. Its areas of professional interest include accessible yoga, trauma-informed yoga, restorative yoga, yoga nidra, meditation, anatomy and physiology, somatic inquiry, yoga philosophy, and yoga for special populations. These subjects align beautifully with the heart of Rose Temple Yoga School.Receiving American Yoga Council accreditation is especially meaningful to me because this program was created to serve students and future teachers who want to make yoga safer, more accessible, and more welcoming.Rose Temple Yoga School now has recognition through both Yoga Alliance and the American Yoga Council, giving students the confidence of knowing they are entering a carefully developed and professionally reviewed yoga teacher training program.
A Free Yoga Teacher Summit From the American Yoga Council
As I celebrate this milestone, I also want to share a free professional development opportunity with yoga teachers, yoga teacher trainees, and anyone who is curious about yoga education. The AYC Yoga Teacher Summit will take place online from September 21–25. The summit includes five days of free live education designed to help yoga teachers continue learning, developing, and strengthening their teaching skills. This year’s speakers and presentations include:Christopher Jain Miller, PhD Bringing Your Yoga Mat to Graduate School: Transforming from Practitioner to Practitioner-ScholarDJ Taz Rashid The Art of Yoga Music: Build Better Playlists, FasterTheo Wildcroft, PhD, and Beverley Nolan Leading Safe & Simple RelaxationMatt Giordano Anatomy in Action: Understand the Body, Transform Your TeachingLara Heimann, PT How Adding Weights Can Preserve & Enhance Your PracticeEach session will be presented live online from 12:00–1:00 p.m. ET. It is designed for aspiring yoga teachers as well as spiritual seekers who want to deepen their personal yoga practice. You do not need to perform advanced yoga poses to enroll. You do not need to be young, thin, athletic, or exceptionally flexible. You do not need years of yoga experience. You do not have to change your body before you belong. You only need a willingness to learn, explore, grow, and honor the wisdom of your body.Completing the 1,100-page training manual, going through the application and review processes, and earning recognition from two yoga organizations represent a milestone I will never forget. This accomplishment grew from years of study, teaching, spiritual practice, challenges, and a dream to create the kind of yoga school I once needed for myself.I am proud of Rose Temple Yoga School, but I am even more excited about the students who will carry this mission into their own communities.Imagine more yoga teachers who understand accessibility.Imagine more yoga classes where people over 40 feel represented.Imagine more chair yoga, gentle yoga, trauma-informed yoga, and yoga for larger bodies.Imagine a yoga community where students are taught to honor their bodies instead of apologizing for them. That is the future I hope Rose Temple Yoga School will help create.
Are You Ready to Begin Your Yoga Teacher Training Journey?
If you have been searching for an inclusive 200-hour yoga teacher training, an online yoga teacher certification program, a hybrid yoga teacher training, or an accessible yoga teacher training in Nashville, I invite you to learn more about Rose Temple Yoga School.Learn more about the Rose Temple 200-Hour Inclusive Yoga Teacher TrainingYou can also learn more about the vision and values behind the school by visiting the Rose Temple Yoga School page.To hear more about my personal yoga journey and why I created this program, listen to Episode 128 of the Spiritual Sanctuary Podcast:Listen to the Spiritual Sanctuary PodcastYou may also watch the episode on YouTube:Watch My Yoga Journey and the Story Behind Rose Temple Yoga SchoolI never expected my yoga path to lead me here, but perhaps that is one of yoga’s greatest lessons.
